Only For A Night is book 1 in the Lick series past Naima Simone. This volume was generously provided to me in exchange for an honest review by NetGalley, Entangled Publishing and past the writer. This book is one of the very first in the brand new Scorched line Entangled is putting out and I couldn't be more excited nigh this. Naima is a new to me author and I am in love. This book was simply astonishing.
Rion Ward is the son of a criminal in the Irish gaelic Mob. All his father wanted for his son was the same life and he began didactics him early. But then, when he was in high school being strongly encouraged past his father to quit schoolhouse so he could get into "the concern" full time, Rion met Harper Shaw. She was a little tiny freshman with a huge heart and a courage of steel. She became his friend, mentor, and tutor, encouraging him to open his eyes to things he never knew existed. Rion was in awe of Harper, in awe that she would even requite him the time of solar day. He never felt like he deserved to breathe the aforementioned air as Harper. He wasn't good plenty. Her own parents constantly discouraged their friendship. And when the day came that Harper came to him wanting something more than friendship, Rion had to let her go.

This volume, just WOW! I loved it. First of all, information technology was and so freaking hot! I mean, read it while in the freezer, hot! Simply information technology was so much more than that. Harper had been stifled and made to experience dirty for wanting things outside the norm. She was then brave to get to Lick and ask Rion for what she wanted. Information technology was such a beautiful thing seeing her go for what she wanted, finally. I ached for Rion. He felt so much for Harper but didn't feel good plenty for her.
I am so glad Entangled is coming out with this new erotic line of books. If not I wouldn't have found this author. I tin't wait to see what comes next in this series.

I like this authors writing manner, I have pretty much enjoyed everything that I take read by her previously, but be warned, books from the Scorched line are not your run-of-the-mill romances as such and so if you lot are looking for like shooting fish in a barrel erotica, or sexy romance Only For A Night, and I doubtable the following books from this series may exist a little out of your comfort zone (view spoiler)[ Lick is a sex society, in this nosotros are introduced to Voyeurism, and the primary couple take part in Ménage, not my personal cup of tea, so a warning at the beginning of the book would have been nice on that front. Both Rion and Harper were likeable plenty though and Naima Simone injected some tender moments due to their history, but I have to be honest and say overall this didn't really float my boat. I like my sexual activity-fuelled erotic reads to have more of story and this was around 80 pages weighted towards the sex and, with Rion owning a sexual practice-society, information technology wasn't particularly surprising to find voyeurism, anal-play and ménages entering the mix.

But he never stopped wanting her, and when Harper makes it clear she doesn't desire a relationship, just a chance to explore her sexuality with a man she trusts, he'southward non able to resist. There's some voyeurism, menage and low-cal bondage in this story, definitely going further than any other story that I've read from this publisher to engagement. But there is also a really sugariness romance, as Rion comes to terms with the fact that his feelings for Harper have never waned despite their distance. And she's different than she was before, determined to make her own choices, no matter the cost. While she still has a good human relationship with her parents, this time effectually she's non going to let them dictate who her friends can be and she wants Rion in her life now, whether they'll corroborate or not. I really loved the ii of the together, the manner that Rion was willing to indulge Harper'due south fantasies without censure, and how he came to realize that he couldn't let her go a second fourth dimension. It was a very sexy, entertaining story, and I'thou looking forward to more than in this series! 4.5 stars.

Only for a Night is the first book and a novella in Naima Simone'southward new Lick series. Naima is new to me as an author, but I really liked this volume. I was first drawn to the volume because of the cover. Aye, aye, I judged this book by the cover and knew I had to read it. Later reading the blurb, I knew I had not made a fault. "Sexy tatted bad boy, Irish mob, sex activity social club, and black out from orgasm sexual practice"...interested in reading this book yet?! Meet, I was sold right abroad.Rion Ward is the son of a member of the Irish Mob. He grew upwardly in that lifestyle, just i 24-hour interval in high school he met this girl, Harper Shaw. She changed his world completely. She made him see that there was more in the world than only the mob life and that he was worthy plenty to take more than. She encouraged the inner artist in him, but most of all she became his friend.
As these two grew upwardly together, feelings began to develop. Harper wants to be with Rion, only all the same being involved with the mob, he doesn't want to bring her into that earth. Information technology would kill him if anything every happened to her considering of that. He's planning on getting out of the mob, but it's going to take fourth dimension. So what does he do? He pushes her away.
Harper begins dating someone else, a "good" guy, just she never forgets about Rion. When the new guy proposes she goes to tell Rion, just he just tells her to marry the guy. He never really thinks he'll see her again, but v years later he'due south taken back when he's told that she's turned upwardly at his guild asking for him.
Rion, Sasha and Killian are co-owners of one of Boston's near exclusive sex clubs, Lick. I love the name of this club. I think it gives the idea of the kinky types of things that get on behind closed doors.

Seeing a lilliputian, well not so petty, scrap of Sasha in this book has me looking forrad to his volume with lots of anticipation. This is not a NA book, the hero and heroine in the volume are matured adults, but it read like a NA book.By the Affiliate 2, the angst meter is reaching my tolerance limit.
Why I do not like it?
1. Over the superlative reaction to uncomplicated requests. eg. Heroine ask hero for sexual activity, and without answering hero stormed off to his function and wanted to punch a pigsty on his wall. This sound similar temper tantrum and not grown developed reaction to requests for sex. What trigger this dramatic reaction from the hero? Considering because "Damn her for reminding him what he had foolishly want and hope for....." Puleeeeeeez! Major eye roll.
2. Despite the hero's need to dial the wall, he rather chop-chop relent and gave the heroine all the kinky orgasms she requested. Actually? He got over his drama so fast?
3. Plot is cliche, I call up reading several books with similar plots.
iv. I don't think, even given my limited experience. No daughter would show up unexpectedly to her ex's place of work, afterwards non having contact with him for several years and indicate bare inquire for muddy kinky sexual activity. No! I don't run across it happening...
5. From the minute I saw the cover of Only For A Nighttime I didn't even know what information technology was about, but I knew two things . The Cover Made me desire to read this book as shortly equally I mayhap could get my easily on it and Its Naima Simone book and then I know it was going to be fantastic then it comes as no daze that I absolutely loved Only For A Night !.In this book we follow Rion and Harper and I loved these two together!!!. Its so much fun following characters who take past in books because yous accept all this back story that yous are just dying to find out . I read the blurb and I idea to my self why is she the Good Girl from his past I need to know !! lol .Naima really did create very interesting character with Rion and Harper they have both been through difficult times in there lives, honestly when you find more than about them I found my self wanted to requite both of them the biggest hugs ever, seeing them reconnect made me so happy . Now lets talk near the The Lodge information technology self Lick ,just reading the description of this club , what was going on in this society , what Rion and Harper were doing in this club lol made me recall yous this book should come up with a alarm that says This volume is really hot we are not joking please stay near to a fan for your own health lol this book was flaming hot !.
But For A Nighttime is a Fantastic start to The Lick Series. It was Sexy , Smoking Hot and at the same time gave Rion and Harper a ending that was admittedly perfect for there story . I cant wait to see what happens in the next book in The Lick Series is it besides early to ask for it now ? lol . If y'all love all these things in you books I suggest you go your copy when this volume comes out on May 30, 2016

I loved how Harper stepped out of her condolement zone and realized what she had been missing in her life. Also, adulation for Harper for taking control of her life after living so many years for others. The passion between Rion and Harper definitely jumps from the pages at y'all, and you can experience the struggle these 2 take had by staying abroad form each other for so long. Harper and Rion's story is a great read, I just wish it was a little longer so that I could accept gotten to know them better. Overall though, If you're looking for a quick sexy read I think you'll like Only for a Night, and I requite it three.5 stars.

The reviews talked about a big cliffhanger. I honestly thought it was a expert end that kept you lot wanting more. I don't know if I would've qualified that equally a blood-curdling cliffhanger.Either way, it was short and sexy. Harper was a cool heroine. Rion was a good alpha. I enjoyed the sex activity scenes. Fifty-fifty the threesome which really surprised me.

Overall this was a great start and have I mentioned the smut and sex scenes were astonishing. I can't decide whether this is a iii.five or 4 stars so I'm going to be optimistic and say 4 stars. It's definitely worth the read.

Only for a Night is a 2d chance romance betwixt an ex-mob hero and his high school best friend. This story works really well as a novella because Rion and Harper were substantially best friends in loftier school and thus knew each other really well. There is an established relationship here that's actually well-written: all the important scenes from their loftier school and university years are in that location and it never felt like anything integral was missing from the story. Rion and Harper friends since they were teenagers, Rion raised to fit into the Irish mob who adored Harper only never felt good enough. And so he pushes her away. His rejection stings. She marries, endures a loveless, emotionally bankrupt marriage admitting cursory, he hubby dies. Rion and his two best friends struggled to leave the mob and are at present owners of a highly prized very successful nightclub that includes a individual sex activity social club. Harper seeks out Rion, tired of existence told who, what, where and wants him to help her. He agrees, reluctantly to give her one dark of no holds barred sex. In between the scenes, we are scripted with their ain thoughts, things unsaid between them. The emotions run high in this book, if you pull out the sex, which a reader tin practice, yous see two hurting people who dear each other, afraid of their own vulnerabilities, risk and feelings of existence unworthy.
